MOD POST // NEW MOD APPLICATION

Well, I think it's quite evident by now, but for the past few months neither utkari02 nor me have been having much time to spend on the community. We've tried our best to keep up, but aside from every-day-life issues we've both grown away from the Harry Potter fandom and would like to have a go at other things. So we believe it's time to step aside.

As you noticed alexia_drake has been a big help around here and she has agreed to staying on as a permanent replacement. (A big thanks to her!) However, she will need a companion, and here's where you guys come in. We will be accepting applications for a new Mod, it is to be decided if this new person will be a Co-Mod or Main Mod, so we will ask you to tell us how much time you have and which position you think you can cover best.

On a same line of thought, alfiri has decided it's time to move on to "greener pastures", seeing as her life has been getting on the way a lot lately and, like us, she would like to try other fandoms. (A big thank you to her as well!) Hence we will also need new banner makers, two to be precise, as Alexia won't be able to handle both banner making and Mod duties.

So... Here's the list of what each position would require:

HEADMISTRESS - Main Mod
1.) Posting uneven Challenges every other Monday.
2.) Posting a Reminder during the week.
3.) Posting the poll on the following Monday.
4.) Posting the results on Wednesday.
5.) Updating the sidebar (recent winners).
6.) Updating the companion journal (icon talent, previous challenges, affiliates, suggestion box, etc.).
7.) Posting the IotM poll and results once every month.
8.) Posting the IotY poll and results once a year.
9.) Doing a LIMS in the summer (although that's up to you).
10.) Other finer details, like revising the rules when needed, coming up with new ideas to boost up participation and other general responsabilities that come with owning a site. (Much like the LIMS this is all really up to you, we all have our ways of running a community and what you do, or don't do, is up to you).

DEPUTY HEADMISTRESS - Co Mod
1.) Posting even Challenges every other Monday.
2.) Posting a Reminder during the week.
3.) Posting the poll on the following Monday.
4.) Posting the results on Wednesday.
5.) Updating the sidebar (recent winners).
6.) Updating the companion journal (only icon talent and previous challenges).

DEATHLY HALLOWS - Banner Makers
1.) Making banners for your assigned challenge every week.
2.) Posting nominations at hp_awards once every three weeks.
3.) Making banners for the IotM once every three months.
4.) Ocationally doing banners for LIMS (although again that is up to the Headmistress and the way the LIMS is put together).

It might seem like a lot, especially the Mod spots, but in truth it isn't so. We have templates for pretty much anything (including a list with everything that has to be done each week) and once you get a little practice most things can be done in just a few minutes. We will also be around to help until things get settled so whomever comes won't have to take all the load of work instantly.

What we need in the new mod is:
1.) Constansy. If you sign up for this then we expect you to do your best to be up to the challenge.
2.) Punctuality. Running every week requires challenges and polls to go up on time, if not everything else gets pushed and things get messy.
3.) Mod Experience. It's not mandatory, but highly appreciated. It might turn the scales in your favour depending on which candidates we get.
4.) HTML knowledge. We can teach you, but it will be easier if you know a bit of it yourself. We change the sidebar weekly and most of the posts involve tables and coding.

What we need in a new banner maker is:
1.) Constansy. If you sign up for this then we expect you to do your best to be up to the challenge.
2.) Responsability. You have to keep track of your own duties, the mods will be there to give you a hand but they can't be everywhere all the time.
3.) Banner Making / Large Graphics Experience. It's not mandatory, but highly appreciated. It might turn the scales in your favour depending on which candidates we get.
4.) Creativity. Something I think most of you guys have, but keep in mind you'll be forcefully making graphics every week.

If you think you have those qualities and ar up to the challenge then post your application to this post! Comments are Screened.

MOD APPLICATION

1.) Name and email / contact information.
2.) Why should we choose you? Convince us that you're the one to entrust this community.
3.) Show me your modding experience (ie: if you're running other comms or websites/forums).
4.) Which position would you like to have? Headmistress/Deputy Headmistress.

BANNER MAKER APPLICATION

1.) Name and email / contact information.
2.) Two or three example banners (if you don't have any you can make them up).

Any doubts you have feel free to leave a comment to this post. This community might seem like a lot more work than it really is and we wouldn't want you to stand aside when you could really be a good Mod.
